Senior Data Analyst

Walee is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Analyst to join our team. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in extracting, analysing, and interpreting data from various sources to derive valuable insights and support business decision-making processes. The best candidate should have a solid background in data science, with a strong focus on data scraping and crawling techniques. In addition, the ideal candidate should be well-versed and have detailed knowledge of social media platform APIs and developer apps including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube.

• Data Scraping and Crawling: Utilise your expertise in data scraping and crawling techniques to gather relevant data from diverse sources such as websites, APIs, social media platforms, and other online repositories.
• Social Media Integration: Leverage your deep understanding of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube) to integrate their APIs and developer apps into our systems, enabling seamless data extraction and analysis.
• Data Cleaning and Preprocessing: Develop and implement robust data cleaning and preprocessing methodologies to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of collected data.
• Data Analysis and Modeling: Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyse large datasets, identify patterns, trends, and correlations, and build predictive models that contribute to business objectives.
• Insights Generation: Extract actionable insights from complex data sets and present them in a clear and concise manner to stakeholders, enabling data-driven decision making.
• API Development and Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and integrate APIs to facilitate data extraction, processing, and storage efficiently.
• Continuous Learning and Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, tools, and techniques in data science, data scraping, and social media integration, and propose innovative solutions to enhance data-related processes.
• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including developers, engineers, and business stakeholders, to understand requirements, gather feedback, and ensure smooth project execution.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of methodologies, processes, and results, ensuring easy access and knowledge sharing among team members.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. A master’s degree or higher is preferred.
• Minimum of 6-7 years of professional experience in data science or a related field, with a focus on data scraping, crawling, and social media integration.
• Demonstrated expertise in extracting data from various sources using techniques such as web scraping, API integration, and crawling methodologies.
• Proven experience integrating and working with APIs and developer apps of popular social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and YouTube.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with relevant libraries and frameworks for data manipulation, analysis, and visualisation.
• Strong understanding and practical experience with statistical analysis, machine learning algorithms, and predictive modelling.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to think critically to solve complex data-related challenges.
